Chrome: Messenger Appreciation Bucking Barrel Tournament

Chrome is hosting a Messenger Appreciation Bucking Barrel Tournament next Thursday, 5/20. Basically, they made a barrel rig that is suspended by rope on all 4 sides. Each participant gets to "mount the bull" and attempt to stay on while those competing against him/her shake the ropes and try to knock them off of the "bull". Should be pretty fucking awesome. The event is open to everyone and anyone, however, only working messengers qualify to compete in the tournament (hence, messenger appreciation).
In conjunction with the tournament, we'll also be running a fundraiser raffle the night of the event. Proceeds from the raffle go towards supporting Squid's Velo City Tour track event (http://www.cyclehawk.com).

"The Ride Journal has now reached the heady heights of issue 4. We are excitedly waiting for them to get back from the printers. All things being well we will have our launch party on Thursday 27th May in London (see flyer attached) and then copies will be on sale from the following Monday (May 31st).
To celebrate this occasion, and offer a little something extra to those who might not be able to make the launch, we have put issue 2 up on the website as a free PDF, as we did with issue 1 a while ago. Those who were unable to get hold of issue 2 will now be able to see all the killer content that filled its pages. Go to www.theridejournal and look for the download."

Chrome's Turds For Gold Shoe Exchange

In an attempt to let the world know how committed they are to their footwear line, Chrome announces their Turds For Gold Shoe Exchange. For two days only, Chrome will be slinging a new pair of shoes to anyone that sends them a worn-out pair of kicks.
"There are a lot of great shoe brands out their but few, if any, are made to handle the harsh demands of riding in the city," says Chrome Marketing Director, Matt Sharkey.
“Our shoes are built to hold up under the toughest conditions and are designed 100% to address the needs of the everyday city cyclist. Not only did we want to build a shoe that was durable and functional, but we also paid close attention to overall fit and timeless style."
The exchange begins on Wednesday, March 17 and ends promptly the next day on Thursday, the 18th. Packages must be post marked by 3/18 to qualify and should include a return shipping address and shoe size info.

The Atlanta premiere of Death Pedal 2 is gonna be this Saturday. Be sure to come with some dough for the raffle, EighthInch is hooking up one of their Scramblers and Cultur Bike shop is also donating a Volume Cutter to one lucky winner. Thats right, TWO bikes to be won. Plus a grip of other prizes. 1 Ticket for $5 3 Tickets for $10. In addition to bringing palettes and plywood I also built a sweet grindbox and grindrail for the party so don’t forget to bring your bike.
